A shopkeeper marked the selling price of his goods in such a way that after giving a discount of 10% he gains 17%. How much per cent above the cost price is the marked price?

a

36%

b

27%

c

30%

d

40%

Answer : Option C
Explanation :

C.P. of the article = Rs. 100 and marked price

= Rs. x

x×90100=117\therefore x \times \frac{90}{100}=117

x=117×10090=130=30%\Rightarrow x=\frac{117 \times 100}{90}=130=30 \% above C.P.
