How many ecological hotspots are present in India?

A biodiversity or ecological hotspot is a biogeographic region with significant levels of biodiversity that is threatened with destruction. Of the 34 globally identified biodiversity hot spots, India harbour four of them, which are as follows: Eastern Himalayas, Indo-Burma, Western Ghats and Sri Lanka; and Sundaland (Andaman& Nicobar).
