If the vertices of a quadrilateral are A(– 2, 6), B(1, 2), C(10, 4) and D(7, 8). Then the equation of diagonal AC will be ?

a

x + 6y = 34

b

x + 2y = 1

c

x – y = 13

d

x – 6y = 34

Answer : Option A
Explanation :
We know that, equation of line is yy1y2y1=xx1x2x1frac{y-y_{1}}{y_{2}-y_{1}}=frac{x-x_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}} Equation of diagonal AC, will be y646=x+210+2frac{y-6}{4-6}=frac{x+2}{10+2}

12y – 72 = –2x – 4

2x + 12y = –4 + 72

2x + 12y = 68

⇒ x + 6y = 34
