The NITI Aayog is neither mentioned in the constitution nor has been established by an act of parliament; it is, therefore, neither a constitutional body nor a statutory body. It is a Government of India policy think-tank established by the Narendra Modi government through a cabinet resolution on January 1, 2015. So it is an advisory and non-statutory body.
