Profit obtained on selling an article for Rs. 310 is equal to the loss incurred on selling that article for Rs. 230. What will be the loss percentage when selling price is Rs. 180?

a

1623%16 frac{2}{3} \%

b

3313%33 frac{1}{3} \%

c

1613%16 frac{1}{3} \%

d

3323%33 frac{2}{3} \%

Answer : Option B
Explanation :

C.P. of article = Rs. x

According to the question,

310 – x = x – 230

2x=310+230=540Rightarrow 2 x=310+230=540

x=5402=Rightarrow x=frac{540}{2}= Rs. 270

herefore Required loss per cent =(270180270)×100=left(frac{270-180}{270} ight) imes 100

=90270×100=1003=3313%=frac{90}{270} imes 100=frac{100}{3}=33 frac{1}{3} \%
