What will be the equation of a line passing through the point (–4, 3) and having slope 12\frac{1}{2} ?

a

x – 2y + 5 = 0

b

–x + 2y + 10 = 0

c

x – 2y + 6 = 0

d

x – 2y + 10 = 0

Answer : Option D
Explanation :

Let the equation of line be yy1=m(xx1)y-y_{1}=m\left(x-x_{1}\right)

Here, m=12m=\frac{1}{2}

and x1=4,y1=3x_{1}=-4, y_{1}=3

\Rightarrow Equation of line be

y3=12(x+4)y-3=\frac{1}{2}(x+4)

2y6=x+42 y-6=x+4

x2y+10=0x-2 y+10=0
