Who estimated the National Income in India for the first time?

During the pre-independence period, many economists estimated the national income of India. Among them Dadabhai Naoroji was the first to calculate the national income in India in 1868. Others to have made similar efforts included: William Digby (1899), Findlay Shiras (1911, 1922 and 1934), Shah and Khambata (1921), V.K.R.V. Rao (1925-29) and R.C. Desai (1931- 40).
