IBPS PO 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Nationality / Citizenship
A candidate must be either a Citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries with the intention of settling in India. Candidates in the latter categories must possess an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.

Educational Qualification (As on 21.07.2026)
A candidate must hold a Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India, or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. The candidate must possess a valid mark-sheet or degree certificate proving that he/she is a graduate on the day of registration and must indicate the percentage of marks obtained in graduation while applying online. The final result of the qualifying degree must have been declared on or before 21.07.2026.

Note: The total duration of the Main Examination is 3 hours 10 minutes. The descriptive paper may be broadly based on economic and social issues, emerging trends in banking and technology, current events, and ethics.
Negative Marking
There is a penalty for wrong answers in the objective tests. 0.25 marks (one-fourth) of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer. No penalty applies to unanswered (blank) questions.
Personality Test & Interview
Candidates who qualify the Main Examination will be called for a Personality Test (self-report), which is non-qualifying but mandatory for appearing in the interview. The interview carries a total of 100 marks, with minimum qualifying marks of 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD).
The final selection is based on a combined score, where the weightage of the Main Examination and Interview is 80:20 respectively.

The Probationary Officer / Management Trainee will draw a basic pay scale of:

IBPS PO 2026 Exam Centres
The examination will be conducted online at centres across India. For Andhra Pradesh, the Preliminary exam centres include Ananthapur, Chirala, Guntur/Vijayawada, Kadapa, Kakinada, Kurnool, Nellore, Ongole, Rajahmundry, Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, and Vizianagaram. Important Instructions for Candidates
- Only one application is allowed per candidate. Multiple applications will result in only the latest valid one being retained.
- Fields such as Name, Email ID, Mobile Number, State/UT, Post, and Nationality cannot be edited after submission.
- Candidates must retain about 8 copies of the same photograph uploaded during application for use at various stages.
- Carry a valid photo ID proof (PAN Card, Passport, Driving License, Voter ID, Aadhaar, etc.) at the exam and interview. Ration Card and Learner's License are not accepted.
- Marks obtained in the Main Examination only will be considered for shortlisting and final merit.
